Sensible Safety: Honda Sensing In Manchester NH

With all that is going on in our own personal lives, it is very easy to become distracted while driving and even miss a thing or two on the road. Whether your engaged in a conversation with someone in your car or on the phone, in the middle of listening to a favorite song or attempting to referee a family dispute between your kids in the back seat, it is very easy to become distracted while driving. Honda realizes this and developed the Honda Sensing System, an exclusive suite of safety and drive assistive technologies, expressly designed to alert you to things you may miss while driving. No matter if you're driving on US 3, I-293 or the Everett Turnpike, the Honda Sensing System will help you arrive safely to your destination.

The Honda Sensing System features a number of advanced technologies, specifically designed to keep you safe on the road, including Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Active Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Honda Lane Watch, Blind Spot Information, Cross Traffic Monitoring and Auto High Beam Headlights.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) detects undetected lane departures, when your vehicle starts to drift into another lane. You'll receive both a flash and sound alert when your vehicle starts to drift in order for you to take action and stop from drifting.

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) will automatically adjust the steering for you when your vehicle starts to stray from the center of a detected lane without signaling. It will then bring you back into the center lane.

Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) alerts you when your vehicle is drifting too close to the side of the road without an activated turning signal. You'll first be alerted by rapid vibrations on the steering wheel. The system will then provide a mild steering input to keep you on the road or will gently apply the brakes to keep you from going off of the road.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) helps you maintain a set following interval on the highway, so you don't have to manually change your speed. Select Honda vehicles feature Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow that makes driving light traffic easier and more convenient.

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) helps apply the brakes on your vehicle when it senses an otherwise unavoidable collision with another vehicle in front of you.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) uses a small camera at the top of the front windshield to detect the presence of vehicles in front of you and works with the Collision Mitigation Braking system to determine if you're at risk of a collision with the detected vehicle. It will first alert you with a visual and audio alarm. If you fail to act the CMBS will then apply brake pressure.

Honda Lane Watch is activated any time you turn on your right signal. A camera on the passenger side mirror immediately turns on displaying a live video on your Display Audio Touch Screen, revealing nearly four times more than the average passenger side mirror.

Blind Spot Information System is activated when your turning signal is on and a vehicle is detected in an adjacent lane. The indicator blinks and a beep sounds until the area is clear or the turn signal is off.

Cross Traffic Monitor works when your car is in reverse with the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and alerts you with a series of beeps and indicators on the camera when a detected vehicle is approaching from the side.

Auto High Beam Headlights the system is designed to intuitively change between low and high beam lighting depending upon the surrounding conditions, when you're driving at night above 25 MPH and the switch is rotated to auto.

The above features are all part of the Active Safety Technology you'll find with the Honda Sensing System. A list of passive safety features are also featured in Honda vehicles, including ACE body structure that enhances occupant protection in frontal crashes by distributing crash energy more evenly. Front Seat belts with Pretensioner and Load Limiter, which allows the front seat belt to retract if a strong frontal impact is felt, reducing the pressure applied to the occupant's chest. Advanced Airbag technology is featured in every Honda vehicle and is designed to protect you in the event of a collision. Select Honda models feature SmartVent® front side airbags, side curtain airbags with rollover sensor and front knee airbags for added safety protection.

Almost all of the technology safety features are included in the Honda Sensing System. Some are available on select models. The Honda Sensing system is standard on all models of the 2018 Honda Accord Sedan, the 2018 Accord Hybrid and Clarity models. The Honda Sensing system is also available on almost all the new 2018 models. It is also standard on the higher trim CR-V, Civic Coupe, Civic Hatchback, Civic Sedan, Fit, Pilot, Odyssey and Ridgeline models.
