Trims and Mechanical Features

The 2019 CR-V arrives with four available trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. The LX comes standard with a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that delivers 184 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque; it is paired with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. All other trims get a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 190 horsepower and 179 lb.-ft. of torque; it is also paired with a CVT and FWD. All CR-V trims also have all-wheel drive availability. With FWD, the LX delivers an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway, while the other trims produce an EPA-estimated 28 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

The base LX comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, a rearview camera, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, two USB ports, and a four-speaker audio system with a 5-inch multi-color display. The upgraded EX features remote start, 18-inch wheels, heated mirrors and front seats, fog lights, an upgraded driver information display, sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The higher-tier EX-L receives leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, eight-speaker audio system with HD radio, power-adjustable passenger seat, and optional navigation system. At the top of the trims list, the Touring features standard dual chrome exhaust tips, automatic wipers, LED headlights, roof rails, a hands-free power liftgate, a navigation system, and a subwoofer.

Safety and Technology

The CR-V is an exceptionally safe vehicle. The base trim of this family-friendly crossover comes with vehicle stability assist with traction control, brake assist, and a multi-angle rearview camera. The other three trims receive the Honda Sensing package, which includes a forward collision warning, lane departure warning, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, and blind spot monitoring system with cross traffic monitor. Passive safety features also found on all trims include Honda's advanced compatibility engineering body structure, advanced front airbags, SmartVent front side airbags, and side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor.

The CR-V comes with all of the technology you would expect from one of the best-selling crossovers in America. Even the base LX comes standard with a 160-watt audio system with four speakers, 5-inch color LCD screen, Bluetooth, Pandora compatibility, USB port, and 12-volt power outlets. The EX trim adds a 180-watt audio system with six speakers, a 7-inch touchscreen display, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, SiriusXM radio, SMS text message function, and three additional USB ports. The EX-L features an upgraded 180-watt audio system with eight speakers, while the highest-trim Touring includes Honda's satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition and Honda HD digital traffic, HD radio, and a further upgraded 330-watt premium audio system with nine speakers and a subwoofer.
