AutoFair Honda was one of six businesses chosen as leaders for implementing practices that are both eco-friendly and good for the bottom line in Business New Hampshire's third annual Lean and Green Awards Competition. The awards were given in three categories: Green Practices, Green Building and Green Product. AutoFair Honda received an Early Adopter award for installing LED lighting in the parking lots at its facility.
AutoFair Honda participates in the EPA Energy Star program. The dealership tracks its energy usage through the Energy Star Portfolio Manager, and has taken the EPA & NADA Energy Star Challenge to continually reduce their energy consumption by 10%.
AutoFair Honda has developed and implemented an Energy Star purchase policy and program to ensure that all electronic equipment that is purchased for the store is Energy Star rated.
AutoFair Honda has made the switch and is using non-toxic green cleaning chemicals to minimize exposure to toxins in the workplace and improve employee and customer health.
AutoFair Honda has begun single-stream recycling.
Autofair Honda is the first automobile dealership in New Hampshire to utilize LED lighting technology for its entire outdoor display and parking lot lighting areas. This step will conserve significant energy and resources.
LED lighting technology uses a great deal less electricity, Autofair Honda is expected to reduce its lot lighting energy usage (kilowatt hour usage) by 88% on an annual basis.
The above reduction will result in significant annual cost savings.

AutoFair Honda is reviewing the use of non-toxic chemicals in its reconditioning department and possibly adding this as a service to customers.
The AutoFair Green Committee, made up of AutoFair automotive group employees and the environmental affairs specialist from the New Hampshire Automobile Dealers Association (NHADA), meet on a monthly basis to discuss environmental issues and projects for the automotive group. The AutoFair automotive group is an active participant in NHADA's Road Map to Sustainability Initiative.
